You forgot to mention how things get delivered to your neighbor if you’re not home. Still getting used to that one! But Kringloops are the way to go, it takes time but it’s worth the effort. Amazon deliveries used to be a daily occurrence for us in the US. Now I avoid deliveries anytime I can.
I have a package of my neighbors and it’s been here a week already. I think I have become the house the delivery drivers drop to because it’s a weekly occurrence. It’s quite funny but I think you’d get shot if you were to go to your neighbors asking for a package in the states.
That’s is not far from the truth! When we were purging our things in preparation for our move people would not knock on our door or ring our bell. And we lived in a “very nice” neighborhood. It made me so sad for the lack of safety and community, but also confirmed we needed to get ourselves somewhere healthier.
It’s early days but we’re starting to meet people and know of a couple other families moving here in the New Year. Could always use more though! How about you?
Mostly parents of other kids at school. So far they’ve all relocated for the same reasons we have and that gives us a really great jumping off point. I’m hoping it continues!
This is beautiful. Most days I love the effort things take here. Some days I want to introvert and it takes more out of me.
It makes me sleep really well. The mental and physical energy it takes.

Any luck building a new community here yet??
