It's amazing to me that you had a €700 bill in the winter. I have a dynamic energy contract for gas/electric from Zonneplan, and my highest bill was €180. Summer time is around €50.
I have a 126sqm house (energy label B) with a gas CV-ketel (heating and hot water), solar panels as well, I guess, but I'm still surprised it can get up to €700.
A few major factors for us. The apartment has one external wall open to the outside so no one there to hold our heat in on that side. Our upstairs neighbor doesn’t run his heat at all. We’re on the ground floor, he’s on level 1 and he has someone above him. The windows need more insulation overall. We have done our best this winter to temporarily reduce drafts but the windows are from the 80s. Double pane instead of triple pane.
We had no way of knowing any of this before moving in. It’s so cold in here all the time. It’s 118 sqm energy rating of a C but feels more like a D.

Really painful bills. I’m hoping it ends soon.
